All Aboard!

We decided to start the Summer of 2010 out with a bang. Anyone that knows anything about Peyton knows his infatuation with trains. He got his first train when he was 1 and his collection continues to grow and it is one of his favorite toys. He can spend hours just playing with his train table, reading train books and watching train videos. So, we (jeremy, peyton and I, Landon went to daycare) booked a train ride through community ed.

We started out early in the morning with a bus ride to Winona to catch the Amtrak. Peyton was so excited. He was shaking when we got on the bus.

When we arrived at the Train Depot in Winona we had some time before the Amtrak actually arrived. As you can see we had one excited 3 year old waiting in the Station.

Because the train was about 1 hour behind schedule we had the opportunity to look as some of the other trains that were around the station. He was not disappointed at all to spend his time this way.

Finally, the Amtrak arrived and the conductor (who Peyton adored) told us to head over to the Lounge Car because it has large windows for him to enjoy the view while we headed to LaCrosse on our ride.

Needless to say Peyton had a blast and so did we. He kept asking us when the conductor was going to collect out tickets. He was so interested in the whole process.

After our train ride the bus picked us up the the LaCrosse Depot and brought us to Chuck E Cheese. Now what could make a 3 year olds day any better than that. He got to enjoy a pizza lunch and ride and play tons of games.

It is days like this that I am so thankful that I am a teacher. I do love my job, but I love to be able to have the time with my boys also. I am so excited for what the Summer of 2010 has in store for us.

3 Years and 6 Months Pictures

This past weekend we had the pictures of the boys taken by a local photographer www.rachelsviggumphotography.blogspot.com. She did an amazing job of capturing Peyton's personality and taking some wonderful shots of Landon. We are thrilled with how they turned out. I have posted a few ( well more than a few) of our favorites.

Memorial Weekend 2010 was spent

Enjoying a snack on the beach,
lounging around playing with my toes,
having fun times in the water with my friends,

catchin' some rays ( no he wasn't actually in the sun, he was under an umbrella with a gallon of sunscreen on)

and a little cat nap.

well, supposed to be taking a cat nap( Miss Cara just didn't want to miss a thing).

Memorial weekend was a fantastic weekend. The weather was beautiful, and we took full advantage of it and spend the day on the river on Saturday. We had a great time hanging out with the Red Wing crew and catching up. The kids were great and played the whole time (9:30-2:30) in the water. The adults were also great too. We had some time to talk and give Katie and Vicky some advice about their upcoming adventures due in July and November. If this was an indicator as to how summer is going to be spent I am so excited!

Landon is working hard on his sitting skills. He is getting very close to having it mastered, but he is only reliable about 20% of the time. After about 30 seconds he ends up looking like the last picture (flat on his face).
