Mattie- 3 months

Mattie at 7 weeks

Mattie at 12 weeks

Mattie is 3 months old today. Here are some of her latest pics. Don't let the calmness of the photos fool you. She is still a wild woman at times. She is getting so much better and we are having more fun with her each day! She is also starting to get the wavy Golden Retriever fur. I am so excited, she is going to be so cute!

New Level of Comfort

So, life has been a little crazy at the Eckhoff house. From an overnight trip the E.R for croupe and a double ear infection, to the puppy and Jeremy's 30th birhday we are in desperate need of a vacation. As you can see that Peyton found a place for a little retreat of his own this evening.

For those of you that have known me for a long time I am sure you know that this picture almost makes my stomach twist in knots but it was so cute and he was having so much fun playing in the "dog kennel" I had to capture the moment. As you can see we have come a long way in 4 weeks. We have gone from stitches in Peyton's left ear from Mattie to Peyton laying on her bed and Mattie just looking on. They sure are becoming great friends.

Round 1: Mattie- 1 Peyton- 0

Well, we had our first Puppy/ Peyton accident this past weekend. Mattie jumped up on Peyton out of excitement. As I pulled her down either her claw or sharp baby tooth got Peyton in the ear. We immediately rushed Peyton to the ER. After 5 hours he ended up with 5 stitches in his left ear.

This is the first picture of the wound. It is 5 days in and healing well. We took Peyton back to the doctor today to make sure that things were healing properly and it was!

After many tears (from Peyton and mom) and trying to decide what we had gotten ourself into with an almost 2 year old and a 9 week old puppy we both realized that we needed to have a better plan so that something like this won't happen again.

Toddler Gymnastics

Peyton started a toddler gymnastics class this week. He had so much fun. It was a good test of his listening skills and his great 23 month old sharing skills (or lack of).
He got to jump off the spring floor into at pile of foam squares. He absolutely loved it. He loved it so much that it was a struggle to get him out of the foam.
He loved climbing on the big mats and then tumbling down.

He also worked on his flexibility.
